Half of each $3 or $7 Canal Street Bingo game purchased goes to the Heart of Canal Street fund, which totaled more than $1.1 million last year and provided funding to children’s charities in southeastern Wisconsin. The Nehemiah Project Inc. is in the running to be a 2019 charity. Help give the gift of a promising future by playing now through Dec. 12. Visit paysbig.com/heart

Thank you so much to Nehemiah Project Board of Directors Officer Richard Larsen for donating tickets to last week’s pre-season game at Lambeau Field! Staff and youth had a great time cheering on the Green Bay Packers as they took home the win and got some great pictures of the game!

This year marks a significant milestone at Nehemiah – the celebration of 50 years of working with teen boys, ages 13-18, in residential, 24 hour care. Our facilities were operating as group homes known as Transcenter for Youth from 1969 to 2002. The Nehemiah Project acquired the two group homes and their programs from Transcenter in 2002. Thus, we have been continuously operating as transitional living facilities for boys since 1969.

An evening of celebration is planned for November 19, 2019 at the Hilton Hotel in Milwaukee to mark this accomplishment. We anticipate welcoming the many people that have helped us grow and thrive in our commitment to care for Milwaukee youth, both old friends and new.

Mitch Albom

Highlighting the event will be our special guest, Mitch Albom, internationally renowned author, who will share his insights with his keynote address: "How One Life Touches Another".
